Winston-Salem business owner loses food truck and house in fire

A structural fire early Saturday morning resulted in the loss of the home and food truck of a Winston-Salem business owner. The owner of the Taqueria de Luciano food truck, Luciano Perez, told WXII that he and another person inside the house were woken up around 6 a.m. by a neighbor warning him of the fire, who had initially started in his food truck. The flames then moved towards Perez’s house on the 5200 block of Shattalon Drive and caused severe damage. Perez said firefighters told him the cause of the blaze was an electrical problem in the food truck. Perez and one other person were the only people inside the house when the fire started and were able to evacuate safely.
