After the Vine cellar opening in early October
ROCKTON – Wine connoisseurs will soon have a new place to enjoy a glass or two of their favorite libations.
After the Vine, 163 Hawick St., plans to host a big opening October 6. in its 2,000 square foot space across from Settlers Park.
“It’s a very relaxing environment,” said Connie Kieffer, owner of the company. “The colors are sunflower and terracotta with a sort of low black ceiling and very nice recessed lights. Everyone said it was a very comfortable space to come and drink wine.
After the Vine will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
In addition to wine, the company will offer beer from Lena Brewing Co. as well as free crackers and nuts.
“We don’t have any food yet,” Kieffer said. “But, it’s coming. This has been requested often.
After the Vine will offer items from local artists for sale and also provide an occasional educational experience for wine lovers.
“In the future, we will have representatives from wine companies who will come and explain their wines, where they come from and why they taste the way they do,” Kieffer said. “There are a lot of stories in these wines and these experts will come and tell their stories.”
After the Vine will accommodate up to 60 guests. The company will be available for receptions, parties and private wine tastings.
Kieffer is confident her new business will fill a void in the Rockton area.
“I researched and found out what most of the community members were looking for in terms of a new business and everyone was talking about wine,” Kieffer said. “We have a lot of wineries in the area but no place to come and try different varieties. It was sort of a mixture of my desire to do something on my own and community research.
